- Zupko has facilitated ongoing discussions between FEMA/USFA and local fire chiefs to help address needs. _ Zupko arranged for FEMA/USFA to present opportunities at the 2015 IAFC WUI conference to further discuss and explore local FD needs. - Zupko met with FEMA/USFA Dec 2014 to further discuss options and provide direct input into grant programs as well as extend network of FEMA regional employees for engagement - Zupko representing South on a FEMA working group addressing Pre Disaster Mitigation grants program, Hazard Mitigation Grants and Assistance to Firefighters Grants on opportunities to expand fuels mitigation and opportunity to expedite transfer of funds. - Zupko in early stages of coordinating state fire directors with state OEM on disaster response issues and coordination. - Discussing with FEMA and USFA opportunities for modelling flood insurance program (review with Headwaters Economic Fall 2014 study) - Zupko representing South on need to update FEMA hazard mitigation plans and processes for reducing duplication.
