Short Term (0-2 years)

- Zupko and Jones Center coordinating on a regular basis with EPA, state forestry and state air agencies as a follow up from Summit in 05-2013 Work with EPA to reduce restrictions to use of prescribed fire due to Smoke tolerance and emissions. This is both for wildfires and prescribed fires. Part is education of the general public – the other part is education/science working with EPA on short-term effects v long-term impacts and extent of emissions. Zupko included this in teh proposal to WFEC private lands fuel management working group. - Zupko has worked with FLA on potential was to address this issue from a private landowner perspective. Note FLA article in July/August 2013. DOJ also as a potential partner
