Short Term (0-2 years)

Other Collaborators are WRSC members. Task 1 - New WRSC Guidance Doc completed in April 2013. Approved by WFEC Oct 2013. May 2014 WFLC dissolved WFEC, WRSC moving forward with Transition Plan and will inform WFLC and new national group. Task 2 - RSC Coordinator hired in Feb 2013 with USFS funding through contract with WGA. Task 3 - Establishing work groups that will span time for implementation. Regional Communications Group. Multiple WRSC members involved in national work groups to assess barriers and critical success factors. Task 4 -WRSC participated in review of Fuels Barriers, also provided work group members to assist national task groups in updating CSF/B – Aug 2013 This is occurring at the national level and will continue through completion of NAP. Task 5 - Continually share collaborative efforts in eNews. Monitoring pilot projects across the West, sharing as developments occur. Seeking ongoing working relationships with FAC and FLN to leverage efforts where possible. Task 6 - Likely be hosted at F&R.gov, working on what all to archive. This has been suggested multiple times - Regional Comm WG to decide on what to archive. April 2014 - had an opportunity to archive documents for the region, but turned out it was for internal use only, not public facing. In the meantime, Katie has posted the WRAP and the YIR at ISSUU. Continuing to discuss with Comms WG how we can better host these documents for all to see and EASILY access. F&R.gov continues to be slow and cumbersome. June 2014 update: started a blog to support western CS efforts and archive western documents. westerncohesivestrategy.blogspot.com
